Running from Goodness

Maybe every sin is the sin of resisting God. We may resist God because we want to be self-sufficient. Or maybe we resist Him because we find a perverse comfort in our sins.

He tells us that we must go boldly to the throne of grace and receive mercy in time of need. Otherwise there can be no healing.

But how can we come to Him when we are filthy? He cannot tolerate filth one whit.

The very act of turning to Him and putting ourselves in His hands is the requisite act of humility. When we come to Him, He cleanses us as He embraces us. What a friend!

"A very important message is the need to strengthen and safeguard our families. Far too many families are breaking up. This heartbreaking trend has an endless train of consequences. Happiness in marriage begins with husband and wife living together in love, kindness, and mutual respect, walking righteously and humbly before the Lord. It is contingent on being faithful to all vows and covenants."

IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER - by Erma Bombeck
(Written after she found out she was dying from cancer).

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.
I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it meltedin storage.
I would have talked less and listened more. I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.
I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.
I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.

I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.
I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.
I would have sat on the lawn! With my grass stains.
I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.
I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me
was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.
When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner."
There would have been more "I love you's"; more "I'm sorry's."

But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute...look at it and really see it... Live it and never give it back.
STOP SWEATING THE SMALL STUFF!!!
Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what.
Instead; let's cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us.
Let's think about what God HAS blessed us with, and what we are doing each day to promote ourselves mentally, physically, and emotionally.

I hope that you have a great day.

The Effects of:
Music in Our Lives

By: Amy Osmond

Have you ever protested a song your child was singing and you heard him say, “Mom, it’s just a song?”
That happened to me with my five-year-old! The other day, my little kindergartener, Maia, was narrating

her life in song. While I can’t remember the exact words, she sang something like “I’m mad that you won’t
let me stay up late; some people don’t like me, and my mom punished me.” I walked into hear room,
heard the song, and said, “Maia, that’s not true at all!” She replied matter-of-factly, “Mom, it’s just a song.”
Then she went back to singing her sad, sad autobiographical narrative. (More)

The Family is the basic unit of society. Intact families fare better than broken
or cohabiting families in many physical and psychological measures.
Men and women are not interchangeable; boys and girls need a mom and a dad.
The family is under attack and marriage is vulnerable, barring federal marriage amendments.

Examples and ideas to help you solve problems and develop a strong family.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

"Is Sex Sacred or Secret?"

"Sex education belongs in the home, where parents can teach chastity in a spiritual environment as they reveal the facts of life to their children about this sacred power. There, in all plainness, the youngsters can be taught that procreation is part of the creative work of God and that, therefore, the act of replenishing the earth must be kept on the high plane of personal purity that God provides, free from all form of perversion.

This responsibility should not be left to schools, friends, playmates, or strangers. (More?)

"Faith may not prevent life's problems but will help when things go wrong. Bad things happen to good people. Accidents occur. Some married couples may not be blessed with children. Others may
not marry in this life, or they may find themselves married to one who fails to keep the commandments of God. The Lord is aware of these circumstances. He will bestow all the blessings that He has in store for His faithful children--in His own way and in His own time. Be righteous, be patient, keep an eternal perspective, and you will be protected."

Marked for Trouble!
Teens who have their bodies tattooed or pierced are especially likely to reject those principles of sexual restraint that have traditionally protected marriage and family life. What is more, teens with tattoos and body piercings are often engaged in illicit drug use, frequently manifest disordered eating behaviors, and are all too often at risk for suicide.

The Plan

A Review: "Spiritual Rock Opera"
"This is the Osmonds Legacy, a spiritual journey that rocks the soul. The Brothers have been so under-rated through their career. This album followed the heavy rock out of their masterpiece "CrazyHorses". Yes, we all know the bubblegum effects of the ballads, but this CD has the depth of looking to God inside to connect with love, family, belief in faith and follow the path of His Plan. It all comes down to resonsibility to listen, feel, pray, and give thanks for the beautiful road of sound and ideas the Family has shared with us in their art. This is a tribute of their love to God and each other and their fans. Thank you for your beautiful inspiration. This Album has touched my heart and soul for 34 years. God Bless You all, Mike Green."

It is about "God's Plan of Life" . . . which is: "The Family!)

"Your most important friendships should be with your own brothers and sisters and with your father and mother. Love your family. Be loyal to them. Have a genuine concern for your brothers and sisters. Help carry their load so you can say, like the lyrics of that song, 'He ain't heavy; he's my brother."

We are members of a chosen generation and must be different in the world today.
It is an exciting time to be alive, but it is also one that is fraught with danger both physically and spiritually. The adversary is very subtle and deceitful and will entice you in any way possible to get you to "follow the crowd" or succumb to the evil ways of the world. (More)

"When evil wants to strike out and disrupt the essence of God's work, it attacks the family. It does so by attempting to disregard the law of chastity, to confuse gender, to desensitize violence, to make crude and blasphemous language the norm, and to make immoral and deviant behavior seem like the rule rather than the exception."

Kaye Rogers heads up Warming Families for:
One Heart Foundation to "Strengthen Families - Physically".

Warming Families connects people who knit, sew, and crochet with local community outreach programs —- homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, nursing homes and similar organizations. They make phone calls to local volunteers and provide logistical support over wide areas. Area volunteers also act locally, collecting homemade blankets, lap robes, hats, scarves, and similar “warming items” and transporting them to shelters and homes.

Do you know people who are caught in the trap of pornography or are lost in the snarls of sexual addiction?  Those who struggle, those who minister to them, and spouses and family members often look long and hard for help, answers and hope.  Is there any way to break the addictive hold of pornography, especially in a world where it can be found at the click of a mouse? Help is on its way.
